THE PROFESSIONAL HOME AND PROPERTY INSPECTORS OF ONTARIO (PHPIO) Ottawa Symposium Up-Date PHPIO is please to announce the attendance of the guest panelists listed below at our Symposium in Ottawa on November 20th, 2009. Simple Facts: There are those who argue that our profession is not fractured and licensing is not needed, and yet another faction states that the Government has no interest. Nothing could be farther from the truth. There are also other organizations that boast that they have practicing members in Licensed British Columbia, but what they fail to tell you is that their members are also members of the recognized associations within British Columbia's licensing structure. If Ontario follows the criteria set in British Columbia there will be two recognized credentials in Ontario: that of the National Certificate Holder and the RHI. The National Certificate Holder is availabe to any Ontario Inspector who wishes to apply and meets the NCA's criteria, while the RHI designation is owned by CAHPI/Ontario (OAHI) and requires you to become a member of OAHI and meet their requirenments. PHPIO is an independent, inclusive organization for Ontario Home Inspectors which fully supports and promotes the National Certification Program. PHPIO offers every home inspector a chance to express their opinions on the structure of licensing and our future. No one else is giving you this chance. All Ontario home inspectors and other interested parties are invited to attend. While British Columbia has passed legislation recognizing the NCA/NCP, talks are underway in Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Alberta and Saskatchewan. From our experience in London we learned that licensing of our industry is inevitable and is going to happen sooner than later. Hear the facts directly from our distinguished panelists and key stakeholders. Moderator: Laura Leyser: Director CREA.
